His Highness sounded the starting siren for the half marathon and later presented the winners in the men’s and women’s categories. He said hosting such events strengthens Ras Al Khaimah’s position as a destination for international sporting competitions and tourism.
Sheikh Saud noted that hosting events such as the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon reinforces the emirate’s standing as a trusted host of major international sporting events that attract top athletes from around the world. He added that sport has the power to unite people, inspire excellence and enhance health and wellbeing, emphasising the importance of advancing sports infrastructure and promoting active lifestyles.
The 19th edition of the marathon saw strong participation across four categories: the flagship 21.1km half marathon, along with 10km, 5km and 2km races. The events brought together families, amateur runners and professionals in a celebration of community spirit and athletic achievement.
As Ras Al Khaimah continues to expand its sporting calendar, including triathlons, elite cycling races, mountain biking challenges and professional golf championships, the emirate is strengthening its position as a leading hub for sports tourism and sustainable human development.
