UAE tops Oman’s non-oil trade partners in 2025

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The United Arab Emirates emerged as Oman’s leading trading partner in non-oil exports, re-exports, and merchandise imports in 2025, according to data from Oman’s National Centre for Statistics and Information.

Strong growth in non-oil exports

The UAE ranked first as a destination for Omani non-oil exports, receiving goods worth over RO 1.311 billion, marking a 25.3% increase compared to the previous year.

Surge in re-exports

The UAE also accounted for 35.2% of Oman’s total re-export trade, valued at RO 724 million, reflecting a strong growth rate of 27.2%.

Increase in merchandise imports

Omani merchandise imports from the UAE rose by 5.4%, surpassing RO 4.1 billion, further strengthening bilateral trade ties.

Positive overall trade

Oman recorded solid growth in non-oil foreign trade overall, supported by government initiatives to boost port activity and productive sectors. Non-oil exports—including chemicals, metals, and machinery—grew by 7.5% to reach RO 6.7 billion, while re-exports surged 20.3% to RO 2.056 billion.

Other key trading partners included Saudi Arabia, India, China, Iran, and the United Kingdom, with varying contributions across trade categories.
