Sharjah 24 – WAM: India has officially joined the Pax Silica initiative by signing the Pax Silica Declaration at a special event held on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.

India-US AI opportunity partnership signed

In addition, India signed a Joint Statement on the “India-US AI Opportunity Partnership”, serving as a bilateral addendum to the Declaration.

According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the documents were signed by S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology; US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor; and US Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment Jacob Helberg.

Strengthening AI-era supply chains

Pax Silica aims to establish secure, resilient, and innovation-driven supply chains for technologies critical to the AI era. The initiative focuses particularly on silicon and essential minerals that support semiconductors, advanced computing, and high-tech systems.

Advancing bilateral AI cooperation

Through the AI Opportunity Partnership, India and the United States seek to promote pro-innovation regulatory frameworks, strengthen the physical AI infrastructure, and support free enterprise.

The partnership outlines plans to empower AI developers and startups, expand joint research and development, facilitate industry investments in next-generation data centers, improve access to advanced computing and processors, and accelerate innovation in AI models and applications.
