At least six people killed, five injured in Switzerland bus fire

The blaze erupted on a bus travelling along the main street of Kerzers, a small town located about 20 kilometres (12 miles) west of the Swiss capital Bern, at approximately 6:25 pm (5:25 pm GMT).

Flames and thick smoke seen

Videos circulating on social media showed flames several metres high bursting from the bus windows, with thick black smoke rising into the sky.

Casualties confirmed by police

According to Fribourg cantonal police sergeant Frederic Papaux, the fire resulted in at least six deaths and five injuries, including three people in serious condition, AFP reported.
