Sharjah24: The UAE Ministry of Defence announced that United Arab Emirates air defence systems intercepted 10 ballistic missiles and 26 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran on 12 March 2026.

The ministry stated that since the start of the Iranian aggression, UAE air defence systems have intercepted 278 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,540 drones targeting the country.

Casualties and injuries reported

The attacks caused six deaths among individuals of Emirati, Pakistani, Nepali, and Bangladeshi nationalities.

A total of 131 minor to moderate injuries were also reported among individuals of various nationalities, including Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, Turkish, Iraqi, Nepali, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, Palestinian, Ghanaian and Indonesian.

Ministry affirms full readiness

The Ministry of Defence confirmed that it remains fully prepared and ready to address any threats, emphasising that it will strongly oppose any attempts to undermine the country’s security.

The ministry reaffirmed its dedication to defending the sovereignty, security, and stability of the UAE, while also safeguarding its national interests and capabilities.
