UAE air defences intercept missiles, drones from Iran

Sharjah24: UAE air defences intercepted 6 ballistic missiles, 7 cruise missiles, and 39 UAVs. The UAE air defence systems (11 March 2026) engaged these targets launched from Iran. Since the start of what is described as Iranian aggression, UAE air defences have intercepted 268 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1514 UAVs.

These attacks have resulted in 6 fatalities among Emirati, Pakistani, Nepali, and Bangladeshi nationals, and caused 131 minor to moderate injuries across citizens of the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Türkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, and Indonesia. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that it remains fully prepared and ready to respond to any threats and will firmly oppose any attempts to undermine national security, ensuring the protection of sovereignty, stability, national interests, and capabilities.
