Sharjah 24: The Education, Human Development and Community Development Council announced three regulatory measures to ensure the continuity of education in the country and the safety of students and those who work in the education sector.

The Ministry of Education decided to extend virtual classes for two weeks, starting with the third cycle of the current academic year. This applies to students and educational and administrative staff in all nurseries, kindergartens, and public and private schools at the state level.

The situation will be evaluated weekly, with any updates announced through official channels approved by the schools to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research also announced the continuation of the distance-learning system for students at all higher education institutions nationwide for two weeks after the end of spring break.

The situation will be evaluated weekly, with any updates announced through official channels approved by the schools to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Higher education institutions can decide the best approach for resuming work for their academic and administrative staff, ensuring the achievement of learning outcomes and maintaining the quality of education.

Private institutions, including schools, nurseries, and higher education institutions, also have the option to return to in-person learning when deemed appropriate. These applications will be reviewed and assessed, and appropriate action will be taken in coordination with the relevant authorities. The Ministry and local educational authorities will share more information about the procedures.

Federal Authority for Government Human Resources announced the availability of flexible work arrangements, including remote work, for government employees who are caregivers for children (father or mother) and hold jobs that qualify under the guidelines.

The procedure applies when official authorities decided to use remote learning for the students from kindergarten to the eighth grade, and children officially registered in nurseries, with compliance with the internal regulations and decisions in force in federal authorities, in order to ensure the continuity of work in an efficient and effective manner.

The Education, Human Development and Society Council confirmed that new updates will be shared through official channels. The Council noted that these measures are part of the continuous coordination between the concerned parties to provide better support for students and their families.
