Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has announced that 34 UAE-based higher education institutions (HEIs) have joined the first phase of its automatic recognition initiative.

Immediate degree recognition for graduates

The initiative allows graduates from participating HEIs to receive instant recognition of their degrees, reducing government bureaucracy and improving efficiency across the UAE’s higher education system.

Since the programme’s launch, over 25,000 graduates have benefited from the service. Plans are underway to extend the initiative to include Emirati students studying abroad under Ministry-supervised scholarships, ensuring seamless access to government services globally.

Supporting career and academic progress

The automatic recognition initiative streamlines procedures for graduates, enabling a smooth transition to postgraduate studies or employment without the need for additional qualification recognition. It also assists graduates in meeting government, residency, and visa requirements, strengthening readiness for the next stage of their careers.

Ministry statement on initiative expansion

Ahmad Yousuf Al Nasser, Acting Assistant Under-Secretary for Higher Education Operations Sector at MoHESR, said: “Linking 34 HEIs in the first phase of the automatic recognition initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening the national recognition system through efficient, flexible services that support students and HEIs and align with societal and labour market needs. We continue to expand our HEI network, increasing inclusion under automatic recognition and advancing an integrated, digitally driven system for future service development.”

Digital tools for verification

As part of its services, MoHESR provides electronic tools for qualification recognition, including verification of Ministry-issued recognition and digital reports for qualifications obtained outside the UAE.

These tools ensure data reliability and ease of use for relevant authorities, further supporting graduates and institutions across the nation.
