UAE and Indonesian Presidents discuss regional developments

Sharjah 24 – WAM: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to discuss ongoing regional developments and the serious implications of military escalations for regional and international security.

Condemnation of Iranian attacks

The leaders addressed the continued Iranian terrorist attacks targeting the UAE and other regional countries, noting attacks on civilians, infrastructure, and vital facilities as violations of sovereignty and international law.

Indonesia expresses solidarity

President Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia’s condemnation of the attacks, expressed solidarity with the UAE, and fully supported the measures taken to safeguard security, stability, and the safety of residents and visitors. He also praised the UAE’s effective management of the situation.

Call for dialogue and diplomacy

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and President Prabowo Subianto emphasised the need to halt military escalation immediately and to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to resolve regional issues, maintain security, and prevent further crises.

Strengthening bilateral cooperation

The call also reviewed UAE-Indonesia cooperation, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and advancing mutual interests under the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership.
