Sharjah24-WAM: The United Arab Emirates reaffirmed its dedication to collaborating with global partners to create a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable digital future for children, with education serving as a bridge to opportunity and technology as a tool for empowerment.

Her Highness Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan delivered remarks at the “Fostering the Future Together” global summit held in Washington on 24–25 March. The summit, initiated by Melania Trump, gathered leaders from 45 countries and delegates from 28 major technology firms to foster an international coalition dedicated to children’s well-being and digital accessibility.

Sheikha Alyazia led the UAE delegation, which included Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Talal Al Kaissi, CEO of Core42, and Noureddin Hadi, CEO of Base71, to participate in high-level discussions.

Focus on education, technology and family values

In her remarks, Sheikha Alyazia conveyed greetings from Her Highness Fatima bint Mubarak and praised Melania Trump for supporting the initiative. She emphasised that decisions made today will shape children’s future, noting that technology must be guided as a force for empowerment.

She highlighted the UAE’s designation of 2026 as the “Year of the Family,” emphasising the importance of families in shaping values and balancing technological openness with cultural identity.

Strengthening global cooperation and innovation

She emphasised the UAE’s focus on integrating education, technology, and innovation, including artificial intelligence, to prepare future generations. She also highlighted the importance of international cooperation to broaden digital knowledge and develop essential skills.

She observed that the UAE’s involvement demonstrates its strategic alliance with the United States and aids in establishing a global model focused on people, describing children’s future as a collective international obligation.

She outlined three key principles for shaping the digital future: equitable access to digital knowledge, development of critical thinking and creativity, and stronger public-private partnerships.

She concluded that the future of societies depends on prioritising children in education and technological innovation.
