Sharjah retains UAE Karate Cup for second consecutive year

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Club successfully defended its UAE Karate Cup title in the men's kumite competition, held at the club’s Al Hazana sports hall.

The home team dominated the tournament, claiming a total of 11 medals: six gold, one silver, and four bronze, securing a decisive overall victory.

Participating clubs

The competition featured 40 athletes representing six clubs: Sharjah, Kalba, Al Dhaid, Shabab Al Ahli, Dubai Police, and Masfout Club.

Leadership praises team effort

Engineer Sulaiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, board member of Sharjah Sports Club and head of individual sports, expressed pride in the team’s achievement, emphasizing the role of dedicated planning and teamwork among players, coaches, and staff.

Commitment to talent development

Al Hajri reaffirmed the club’s commitment to talent development and thanked the Sharjah Sports Council and the club’s board for their continued support.

Award ceremony

The award ceremony was attended by Major General Nasser Al Razouqi, President of the UAE and Asian Karate Federations and Vice President of the World Karate Federation; Engineer Sulaiman Al Hajri; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, chairman of the competitions committee; and Jaber Al Zaabi, head of the referees committee.
