MOI warns of scam messages impersonating it

Sharjah24-WAM: The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has issued a warning to the public about scam text messages impersonating the Ministry, which ask for personal details and press recipients to follow urgent instructions under the guise of a legal breach or a so-called “final warning.”

In a statement, the Ministry clarified that these messages are not affiliated with it in any way, emphasising that they are part of scam attempts aimed at obtaining sensitive personal data.

The Ministry advised the public not to respond to such messages, avoid sharing any personal details, and refrain from clicking on dubious links. It stressed the importance of relying only on official communication channels for accurate information and legitimate procedures.

The warning is part of ongoing efforts to raise public awareness about cyber fraud and to protect individuals from falling victim to phishing and impersonation schemes.
