Sharjah 24 – AFP: Bayern Munich came from two goals down in the final 10 minutes to beat Freiburg 3-2 in the Bundesliga on Saturday, ahead of their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid. Tom Bischof scored twice before Lennart Karl netted the winner in the ninth minute of stoppage time, despite Bayern missing injured talisman Harry Kane.

Bayern extend lead at the top

The victory puts Bayern 12 points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, who are set to play Stuttgart later on Saturday. With Kane sidelined by an ankle injury, coach Vincent Kompany rested Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano to prepare for the trip to Madrid, a side Bayern have not beaten since 2012.

Neuer returns as Freiburg take early lead

Veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer returned from injury, making two crucial saves in the first half. Freiburg opened the scoring after the break through Johan Manzambi, with Lucas Hoeler doubling the lead in the 71st minute, putting Bayern on the brink of a rare league defeat.

Late Bayern revival secures win

Bayern’s comeback began in the 81st minute when Bischof scored, followed by his second in stoppage time. Substitute Alphonso Davies set up Lennart Karl for the dramatic winner with a low, precise pass across the goal.

RB Leipzig beat Werder Bremen 2-1

RB Leipzig strengthened their top-four hopes with a 2-1 away win over Werder Bremen. Antonio Nusa opened the scoring from outside the box, and Romulo added a second goal, taking Leipzig level with third-placed Stuttgart. Bremen remain four points ahead of relegation play-off side St. Pauli.

Leverkusen overcome Wolfsburg 6-3 in goal-fest

Bayer Leverkusen came from behind twice to defeat Wolfsburg 6-3, keeping their Champions League hopes alive. Wolfsburg led 3-1 at halftime through Danish stars Jonas Wind, Joakim Maehle, and Christian Eriksen, but Leverkusen scored five in the second half, with Alejandro Grimaldo netting a brace. The win moves Leverkusen just behind fourth-placed Leipzig and one point behind Hoffenheim.

Other Bundesliga results

Hoffenheim continued their slump, losing 2-1 at home to Mainz and dropping to fifth after winning only once in six matches. Borussia Moenchengladbach drew 2-2 with bottom-placed Heidenheim, while 10-man Hamburg held Augsburg to a 1-1 draw at home.
