Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Perri guided his team, Leeds United, to the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1987, saving two penalties in a 4-2 victory over West Ham United. The match, played at the London Stadium in the final quarter-final, ended 2-2 after extra time.
Leeds took a 2-0 lead through goals from Japanese midfielder Tanaka (26') and substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin (75' penalty). However, West Ham staged a dramatic comeback with goals from Portuguese midfielder Matheus Fernandes (90+3') and French midfielder Axel Disasi (90+6'). During the penalty shootout, Perry saved two of West Ham's four penalties: the first and fourth, taken by Jarrod Bowen and his fellow substitute Pablo Felipe, respectively.
Meanwhile, West Ham goalkeeper Finley Herrick, who replaced the injured Alphonse Areola in the 120th minute, saved Leeds' first penalty, taken by Surinamese substitute Yoel Berru, while Leeds converted all four of their other penalties.
