Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Federal National Council (FNC) strongly condemned the terrorist plot aimed at undermining national unity and destabilising the country. The plot was uncovered, and the terrorist cell responsible for planning it was apprehended.

Threat to national unity and security

The Council affirmed that the group harboured ill intentions toward the nation and sought to undermine its security and stability, stressing that such incidents only strengthen societal cohesion and awareness, reinforce unity around the leadership and national institutions, and increase determination to confront any attempts to harm the country.

Speaker’s address during FNC session

Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Council, stated during the eighth session of the third ordinary term of the 18th legislative chapter in Abu Dhabi that the incident represents an attack on state security and public safety, as well as a violation of UAE laws and a betrayal of the homeland, which provides safety, stability, and dignity under the rule of law.

Rejection of extremist behaviour

He added that the UAE rejects such criminal behaviour, affirming that the country will not allow any deviant ideology or organisation to threaten its security or achievements, having established a global model of tolerance, stability, and coexistence.

Praise for security agencies

Ghobash expressed appreciation for the UAE’s security agencies and competent authorities for their vigilance and efficiency in uncovering and foiling the plot, highlighting the strength of national institutions and their readiness to protect the country and its achievements.

UAE’s continued stance on stability and moderation

He reaffirmed that the UAE will remain a secure and resilient nation, committed to moderation, human dignity, and civilisational progress, while remaining steadfast against extremism and chaos.
