The decision came after a 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, marking the first time since 1912 that Chelsea have lost five consecutive league matches without scoring.
Rosenior, 41, had been in charge for just three and a half months after joining from RC Strasbourg Alsace. He replaced Enzo Maresca in January but leaves after only 23 matches, following disappointing results across domestic and European competitions.
In a statement, Chelsea said the decision was not taken lightly, praising Rosenior’s professionalism but acknowledging that recent performances fell short of expectations.
The club confirmed that Callum McFarlane will take over on an interim basis, with his first match set to be a domestic cup semi-final against Leeds United on Sunday.
