Leavitt told reporters that the proposal includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and postponing discussions on Iran’s nuclear programme to a later stage. However, she did not express an official position on the proposal.
She stressed that President Trump’s key demands remain unchanged, including ensuring the Strait of Hormuz is reopened and requiring Iran to hand over its stockpile of enriched uranium.
Leavitt added that although discussions have taken place, no conclusions have yet been reached. “I cannot say they are considering it,” she noted, adding that a direct statement from the president is expected.
