Sharjah 24: The swimming team of Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club delivered a standout sporting achievement, asserting a strong presence at the Sharjah Swimming Championship, held at Al Madam Club pool with the participation of the Emirate’s seven clubs. In a highly competitive atmosphere marked by intensity and challenge, Al Dhaid’s swimmers confirmed their distinction and ability to reach the podium across various age groups.

Impressive medal haul

This excellence was reflected in an outstanding tally of five trophies and more than 40 medals of various colours — gold, silver and bronze — clearly demonstrating the team’s meticulous technical preparation and high level of readiness throughout the championship. The swimmers produced strong and consistent performances across all races.

Top individual performers

Mohammed bin Huwaiden topped the list of standout performers, winning four gold medals and claiming the first-place trophy for Best Swimmer in the 15–16 age category. Meanwhile, Salem continued his fine form, securing three gold medals in addition to the Best Swimmer trophy in the 11–12 age group, confirming his status as one of the most promising emerging talents in swimming.

Obaid Saeed Obaid also recorded a notable achievement, winning three gold medals and one silver, alongside the Best Swimmer trophy in the 10-year category. Mohammed Ali Al Ketbi added three more gold medals to the team’s tally, claiming the first-place trophy for Best Swimmer in his category, completing the line-up of stars who led the team to this success.

Leadership praise

His Excellency Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club, praised this achievement, affirming that it reflects the results of structured work and the strategic approach adopted by the club in developing individual sports, particularly swimming. He highlighted the provision of an integrated training environment and the refinement of athletes’ skills according to modern scientific methods, contributing to the development of champions capable of representing the club and the emirate at various competitions.

Sustained success and future commitment

Bin Huwaiden added that this distinction builds on a series of successes achieved by the club’s athletes across swimming-related disciplines, as well as martial arts and individual sports. He reaffirmed the club’s continued full support for players and technical staff, reinforcing the sustainability of achievements and consolidating Al Dhaid Club’s position as one of the emirate’s leading sports clubs.
