Sharjah 24: Ahmed Jassim Al Rashid, Director of Cultural Programmes and Events at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK), revealed that “Base 39” was established in 2025 under the generous and inspiring patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park (SPARK). He explained that it serves as the creative arm of the SPARK's creative economy and as a platform aligned with Sharjah’s vision of empowering youth and building a future based on innovation.

Targeting a wide range of creative fields

Al Rashid confirmed that “Base 39” targets artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and tech startups, as well as creatives working in design, digital arts, media, architecture, fashion, music, artificial intelligence technologies, and interactive arts.

He noted that this reflects the expanding concept of creative industries and their growing role in supporting the knowledge economy.

Facilities designed to support growth

The Director of Cultural Programmes and Events added that the facility includes 19 spaces, comprising offices and dedicated areas for creative projects, along with additional spaces available for new initiatives.

He said the aim is to provide a practical and flexible environment that helps innovators establish a commercial presence in Sharjah and develop scalable, competitive projects.

Supporting graduates and turning ideas into businesses

Al Rashid pointed out that the initiative seeks to support graduates from cultural and artistic universities in Sharjah and across the UAE, helping them transform creative ideas into economic projects that contribute to the creative industries sector and strengthen Sharjah’s position as a hub for talent and innovation.

Open invitation to creatives

He invited creatives from all fields to join “Base 39” and benefit from its spaces, facilities, and programmes.
