Sharjah 24: Since dawn on the Day of Sacrifice, the first day of Eid Al Adha, crowds of pilgrims have begun performing the ritual of stoning the Jamarat at Mina by casting seven pebbles at the largest pillar, Jamarat Al Aqabah, amid smooth movement in accordance with the organised crowd-management plan.

The stoning of Jamarat Al Aqabah is performed in keeping with the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, as pilgrims carry out the ritual after standing at Arafat and spending the night in Muzdalifah, before continuing the remaining rituals of the Day of Sacrifice, including the animal offering, shaving or trimming the hair, and Tawaf Al Ifadah.
