Sharjah24- AFP: In an address via video-link, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asks UN Security Council to adopt a resolution condemning "all forms of energy terror" following yet another deadly Russian bombardment that targeted critical infrastructure across Ukraine. "We need modern and effective air and missile defense systems and I thank everyone who is already helping," adds Zelensky.
Commenting on this, Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian president stated, "Ukraine proposes that the Security Council adopts a resolution condemning all forms of energy terror. Let's see if anyone in the world, along with Russia, can say that terror against civilians is supposedly good."
The Ukrainian president added, "We expect a tough reaction of the world to today’s Russian terror. We are waiting for the reaction of our partners. We are waiting for the reaction of friends, not just observers. We expect the reaction of all those who truly recognize the UN Statute."
Volodymyr Zelensky continued, "There must be no room for terror in the world. That is why we appeal to our partners for support to protect our skies. We need modern and effective air and missile defense systems and I thank everyone who is already helping."
The Ukrainian president concluded, "Russia has long been trying to turn the UN Security Council into a platform for rhetoric. But the Security Council was created as the world's most powerful platform for decisions and actions. This is what we can demonstrate. The Security Council should give a clear assessment of the actions of the terrorist state in accordance with the Seventh Chapter of the UN Charter."
