Sharjah 24: The Cultural and Community Committee at Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club held, on Sunday, its regular meeting, headed by Mohammed Ali Mohammed Al Dhahouri, Chairman of the Cultural and Community Activities Committee, and attended by Ahmed Abdullah Al Naqbi, Vice President and Chairman of the Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence Committee, in addition to members of the Cultural Committee.
The meeting was held within the framework of completing the cultural and community work and plans that the club is keen to implement to support cultural activities and enhance its role in serving the local community.
The Cultural and Community Committee at Dibba Al Hisn Club seeks, through these events, to provide the best cultural and educational opportunities and enhance the club's role as a cultural and social centre that reflects the aspirations and needs of the community.
During the meeting, the monthly plan was discussed, which includes a group of cultural and social activities aimed at enhancing cultural life in the region.
The importance of active participation in the celebrations of the UAE National Day and organising events that reflect the spirit of belonging and loyalty to the homeland and enhance the national identity among members of society was emphasised.
The recommendations of the previous meeting related to the implementation of cultural and community programmes were also reviewed, the achievements of these recommendations were reviewed and the challenges that may hinder the implementation of some of them were discussed.
The executive plan for the month of November was presented, which includes a set of cultural and community activities scheduled for this month.
Responsibilities were determined and tasks were distributed among the members of the committee to ensure the achievement of the desired goals. This plan comes within the framework of enhancing sustainable cultural work and organising events directed at all segments of society in the city of Dibba Al Hisn.
The attendees also discussed the necessity of visiting the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) this week as an important cultural event and an opportunity to view the latest cultural and scientific publications.
The importance of encouraging community groups to visit SIBF and participate in its activities was emphasised to enhance the love of reading and culture.
At the end of the meeting, the idea of hosting the disabled in upcoming cultural activities and organising special events for them was raised with the aim of providing opportunities for active participation and enhancing social integration.
The date of the annual cultural competition that the club intends to organise next month has also been set, where participants will be given the opportunity to compete in various cultural fields, which will enhance creativity and learning among the participants.
