Sharjah24: Dibba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club has launched the seventeenth edition of the Holy Quran competition, Memorise and Recite, under the generous patronage of the Sharjah Charity International and in cooperation with the Department of Islamic Affairs in Dibba Al Hisn. The event drew a strong turnout of parents, Quran enthusiasts and participants of all ages.

Supporting memorisation and community values

The competition is considered one of the club’s leading annual Quranic initiatives, reflecting its cultural and social role in supporting memorizers of the Holy Quran and promoting Quranic values across the community.

Categories and judging

Held in a spiritual and uplifting atmosphere, the contest aims to strengthen children’s and youth’s connection to the Quran and encourage accurate memorisation and proper recitation according to tajweed rules. Categories include full memorisation of the Quran, selected sections, and a recitation track, all overseen by a specialised panel of qualified judges.

Continuing a long-standing tradition

Organisers noted that the competition’s seventeenth consecutive year highlights the strong commitment to serving the Quran, discovering emerging talents, and instilling Islamic values in younger generations, contributing to a cohesive society guided by Quranic principles.

This year’s edition has seen notable participation, with expectations of strong competition and high performance levels. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony honouring winners across all categories.
