SDPW completes labour accommodations and mosque in Wadi Al Helo

This project is in harmony with the department's strategy: to deliver housing and services that address the needs of workers while also providing an appropriate space for worship. 

The project includes a residential block with essential amenities to ensure the comfort and dignity of its workers. We have constructed a contemporary mosque that can accommodate 227 worshippers, showcasing an architectural style that reflects local Islamic traditions.

The accommodation spans 2,660 square metres and includes 20 bedrooms designed to house 80 workers, along with two-bathroom areas, showers, and storage spaces. The services building features a dining hall, laundry room, kitchen, and extra bathroom facilities. A workshop spanning 1,220 square metres for equipment maintenance, along with a 353-square-metre storage building featuring five storage units, three offices, a waiting room, and a pump room, were also built. 

Furthermore, a nursery covering 28,114 square metres was established, which includes an administrative office, while the mosque occupies an area of 319 square metres.  

Engineer Abdullah Al Tunaiji, Director of the Directorate's Branches Administration, highlighted that this project demonstrates the department’s dedication to improving infrastructure and services throughout the emirate. He observed that the new facilities in Wadi Al Helo underscore Sharjah's commitment to enhancing the quality of life and offering a cohesive environment for both residents and workers. 

The project aims to improve workers' living conditions while promoting a sense of belonging and stability. The new mosque will function as a center for both religious and social activities, enhancing community connections, and fostering common values. 

The Sharjah Public Works Department reiterated its dedication to finishing the project with the utmost quality, guaranteeing the prompt provision of excellent services to the community.
