The event reflected SIH's commitment to strengthening community engagement while offering an opportunity to learn more about the academic and professional programmes it provides. Visitors were able to directly discuss their ambitions and enquiries with the academic team, gaining a closer understanding of the Institute’s role in shaping future specialists.
The open-day programme included a guided tour of classrooms and facilities, complemented by detailed presentations on scientific tracks and qualifications accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. These include four specific qualifications: working in cultural and heritage organisations, guiding in museums, restoring and preserving manuscripts, and protecting intangible cultural heritage. Additionally, SIH presented its newly accredited diploma in business management for cultural and museum institutions—the first of its kind in the region—totalling 65 credit hours.
Dr Abdulaziz Al Musallam emphasised that SIH is dedicated to delivering integrated academic and professional programmes that embody the richness of Emirati heritage while aligning with international quality benchmarks. He noted that the open day strengthens SIH’s connection with the community and raises awareness of its accredited qualifications, enabling the graduation of specialised cadres capable of preserving heritage for generations to come.
Dr Khalid Al-Shehhi, Director of the Academic Department at the SIH, added that the initiative aims to make education a living gateway to heritage by offering a holistic knowledge experience that blends authenticity with modernity. He highlighted that the programmes provide students with accredited diplomas and are supported by future development plans to further enhance academic excellence.
