The event brought together humanitarian leaders, representatives of international organisations, and private-sector partners, highlighting Taawon’s prominent regional and international standing. It also underscored the UAE’s strong commitment to advancing humanitarian efforts and supporting initiatives for the Palestinian people, especially vulnerable children and families in Gaza and across Palestine.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Nahyan expressed his honor in attending Taawon’s gathering, praising the organization’s national vision and its dedication to alleviating suffering and aiding the Palestinian people. He highlighted the Noor Programme, now the region’s largest orphan-care initiative, as a source of pride, emphasizing its focus on children in Gaza as a true act of compassion and solidarity. The programme aims to provide a humane environment where these children can live safely and peacefully.
Sheikh Nahyan emphasised the deep fraternal relations between Palestine and the UAE, noting that the gathering reflected the heartfelt solidarity of the Emirati people with their Palestinian brothers and sisters. He reaffirmed the UAE’s support for Palestinian rights under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, continuing the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He described the UAE’s efforts to empower Palestine and support efforts for its independence as expressions of genuine brotherhood.
He further praised Taawon’s noble initiatives, including the Noor Programme, which offers vital care to orphaned children in Gaza. Sheikh Nahyan described the programme as an embodiment of mercy, dignity, and respect for human life, expressing hope that it would bring hope to Gaza’s children and help end their suffering.
Dr Nabeel Hani Al-Kudumi, Chairman of Taawon, highlighted that the organization has served the Palestinian people for over four decades, investing more than one billion dollars in various programmes aimed at empowering Palestinians and supporting their resilience. He mentioned that since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict, Taawon intensified its relief efforts through initiatives such as Gaza Deserves, which includes the Noor Programme, medical services, education support, and rehabilitation for injured individuals.
Dr Tareq Mtayrah, Taawon’s Director-General, provided an overview of the Noor Programme, describing it as a comprehensive care model that accompanies children through their development until age eighteen. He explained that the programme offers education, health, psychological support, and protection, helping children regain stability and resilience.
Taawon expressed its gratitude to the UAE leadership, government, and people for hosting this humanitarian gathering and reaffirmed that the event reflected the deep fraternal ties and ongoing support for Palestine. The organization emphasized that this solidarity is a true partnership in building a safer and more dignified future for Gaza’s children through the Noor initiative.
