Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, received a high-level international delegation from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation – COMSTECH, headed by Seema A. Khan, at his Majlis in Abu Dhabi, as the delegation participated in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.

Focus on education, innovation, and sustainability

Discussions centred on strengthening international cooperation in education, research and development, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with a strong emphasis on climate- and environment-related priorities. The talks highlighted the need for people-centred sustainable development models that respond to evolving societal needs.

Strengthening multilateral cooperation

The meeting explored ways to enhance coordination among international and regional institutions, expand knowledge and expertise exchange, and build effective partnerships capable of delivering practical and innovative solutions to shared global challenges, while integrating humanitarian, social, and economic dimensions.

Promoting tolerance and inclusive dialogue

The discussions reflected a broader approach grounded in openness, constructive dialogue, and multilateral cooperation, supporting initiatives that balance economic development with environmental protection and reinforce the values of tolerance, coexistence, and peace.

Diverse international participation

The delegation included senior representatives from organisations such as APEC, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Business Council, the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, and the Sino-International Entrepreneurs Federation, alongside officials and advisers from Pakistan and other international institutions.

Appreciation for engagement

Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm reception, stressing the importance of continued engagement to strengthen international dialogue, expand cooperation, and build partnerships that support global sustainability efforts and address environmental and economic challenges through shared responsibility.
