During the visit, Sheikh Hazza observed various activities, including an educational session with the International Fund for Houbara Conservation, focusing on Houbara bustard conservation techniques. He also participated in sporting and recreational events, such as a football competition and an interactive virtual reality hunting experience, designed to promote a healthy lifestyle among the participants.
Sheikh Hazza affirmed that caring for the sons of martyrs is a national priority under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He highlighted that the camp and related initiatives aim to nurture skills, inspire creativity, and empower the children of UAE fallen heroes.
Sheikh Hazza stressed that the camp reflects the UAE’s vision for youth empowerment, viewing investment in young people as an investment in the nation’s future and in the continued development of its cultural and national mission.
The visit was attended by Sheikh Zayed bin Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Abdulla Ghurair Al Qubaisi, Director of the Fallen Heroes’ Affairs Office. The camp is supported by several entities, including the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, and Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi.
The Al Fakhr Winter Camp – Remah hosts 63 martyrs’ sons aged 12-16. Activities include educational sessions on Emirati customs and traditions, workshops on falconry and Arabic coffee preparation, sports and recreational events, scientific talent-development programmes, and sessions on healthy nutrition.
