Following a 2–2 draw against Mainz — their second draw of the season — the reigning champions remained unbeaten and secured their 13th league win, strengthening their grip on top spot with 41 points, nine clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, in their final match before the end of the year.
Bayern entered the encounter without several first-team regulars, including veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Konrad Laimer, Kim Min-jae, and Aleksandar Pavlović, due to injury, while Sadio Mané was absent because of international commitments.
Despite the absences, the Bavarian giants delivered a dominant display and controlled the match throughout.
The goals came from Josip Stanišić (15’), Michael Olise (32’), Luis Díaz (87’), and Harry Kane (90+2’). Kane, captaining Bayern for the first time, reached a historic milestone by becoming the fastest player in Bundesliga history to reach 100 goal contributions, with 81 goals and 19 assists in just 78 matches.
