Sharjah24-WAM: A fifth batch of Indonesian medical personnel has arrived at the UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish, Egypt, to support the provision of advanced medical care for Palestinian patients and for those evacuated from the Gaza Strip.

The newly arrived team includes specialists in orthopaedics, surgery, anaesthesia, internal medicine, and radiology. They will work alongside Emirati medical staff as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, strengthening the hospital’s capacity to manage complex and critical cases and expanding the range of specialised services available to patients.

The collaboration reflects ongoing international coordination to address the humanitarian and medical challenges faced by the Palestinian people.

Humanitarian partnership and regional solidarity

The participation of Indonesian medical professionals underscores the depth of UAE–Indonesia relations and the shared humanitarian commitment of both nations to alleviating suffering and providing urgent medical assistance during times of crisis.

Hospital services and achievements

Since its inauguration on 23 February 2024, the UAE Floating Hospital has delivered more than 12,000 medical services. Medical teams have performed over 5,200 surgeries, conducted approximately 6,500 physiotherapy sessions, and fitted 26 prosthetic limbs for patients evacuated from Gaza.

The 100-bed facility, which also accommodates 100 patient companions, is equipped with fully integrated operating theatres, intensive care units, laboratories, and advanced radiology departments, ensuring comprehensive, continuous care.
