The ministers denounced repeated incursions by Israeli settlers and extremist ministers into Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif under police protection, including the raising of the Israeli flag within its courtyards, calling it a provocation and a violation of international law.
They reaffirmed rejection of any attempts to change the status quo, stressing that Al-Aqsa Mosque is exclusively for Muslim worship and highlighting Jordan’s Hashemite custodianship role and the authority of the Jordanian Waqf over the site.
The ministers also condemned expanded settlement activity and settler violence in the occupied West Bank, rejecting annexation and displacement attempts, and urged the international community to act to stop violations and advance a two-state solution based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.
