Sharjah 24: Emirati artist Ahmed Al Jasmi, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Theatrical Association, expressed his happiness with the standard of theatrical performances presented during the 19th edition of the Emirates Children’s Theatre Festival (ECTF), which concluded on Saturday at the Cultural Palace Theatre in Sharjah.

Strong public turnout and artistic progress

Ahmed Al Jasmi praised the large audience turnout that accompanied the performances of the 19th edition of the festival, which ran for seven days. He noted that the theatrical productions had developed significantly, highlighting the creativity of the participating theatre groups, which reflects the importance of the festival on the map of the national theatre scene.

Children’s participation and emerging talent

In statements to “Sharjah 24,” Al Jasmi said that children’s participation in the festival was tangible and clearly evident in directing, writing, acting and technical aspects. He added that the judging panels even found it difficult to distribute the awards among these young creatives, pointing out that the festival has introduced promising talents who will enrich mainstream theatre with their creativity.
