UAE champion of Asian Youth Modern Sailing Championship

Sharjah 24: Thamer Saeed Al Shamsi, General Supervisor of the Asian Youth Modern Sailing Championship, announced that the UAE national team was crowned champion of the Asian Youth Modern Sailing Cup. The announcement was made during the closing ceremony held at Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, after the UAE team secured a total of 26 medals.

The championship was held from 15 to 30 December on Al Hamriyah beach under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

Al Shamsi expressed his delight at the successful staging of the competition after a six-year break. Teams from 18 countries took part, with the UAE national team emerging as overall winners and securing 26 medals across the events.

He highlighted that the event was the first continental championship hosted by the club and said it was a proud moment for Al Hamriyah. He also thanked the participating nations, sponsors and partners for their support in delivering a smooth run and a highly successful championship.
