In a stock exchange filing on Thursday, BYD revealed that total sales fell 18.3% in December compared to the previous year, marking the fourth consecutive month of decline and the biggest monthly drop in nearly two years.
For the full year, BYD sold 4.6 million vehicles, a 7.73% increase, meeting the company’s reduced production target.
The company lowered its 2025 sales target by 16% due to sluggish domestic sales since July, facing growing competition from rivals such as Geely and Leapmotor in the economy car segment.
