UAE, Mozambique leaders boost bilateral cooperation

Sharjah 24 – WAM: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with His Excellency Daniel Chapo, President of the Republic of Mozambique, during his working visit to the UAE to participate in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Expanding cooperation across key sectors

The two leaders discussed strengthening cooperation across several sectors, including the economy, trade, development, renewable energy, and energy security, in support of national development priorities and long-term prosperity for both countries.

Importance of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week

They also reviewed the main themes of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, highlighting its role as a global platform for addressing sustainability challenges and promoting innovative solutions that drive lasting progress.

Commitment to sustainability and renewable energy

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and His Excellency Daniel Chapo reaffirmed their commitment to exploring further cooperation opportunities, particularly in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, to advance shared sustainability goals.

Agreements and memoranda of understanding

During the meeting, the leaders witnessed the announcement of several agreements and memoranda of understanding in areas including diplomacy, healthcare, environment, community development, and other fields aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Officials in attendance

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan; along with a number of UAE ministers and senior officials.
