UAE, South African Presidents discuss bilateral cooperation

Sharjah 24 – WAM: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries across several fields, including the economy, trade, development, and sustainability.

Meeting held during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week

The talks took place during President Ramaphosa’s working visit to the UAE, on the sidelines of the 2026 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Role of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa highlighted the importance of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week as a global platform for exchanging expertise and ideas, contributing to innovative solutions to global sustainability challenges and fostering a more prosperous future.

Focus on sustainability and green economy

Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to sustainability and emphasized enhancing cooperation, particularly in renewable energy and the green economy, in support of their common development goals.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan; along with several ministers and senior officials.
