The event saw wide participation from local residents and included art exhibitions, a poetry evening, and a children’s theatre performance aimed at promoting heritage and national identity.
Shamsa Al Mazrouei, official at the Department of Culture's Office in Wadi Al Helo, affirmed that organising this event reflects the Department’s commitment to reviving folk arts and reinforcing national identity, in line with Sharjah’s vision to preserve cultural heritage.
Al Mazrouei explained to “Sharjah 24” that the activities included the opening of an art exhibition featuring Arabic calligraphy, fine arts, photography, and a series of accompanying workshops, as well as poetry evenings featuring a selection of poets, in addition to folk and traditional arts performances reflecting the nature of the mountainous regions.
She added that the programme included participation from local residents through displays of local products and crops, alongside a theatre performance titled The Book of Wishes, aimed at the children of the area to instil cultural and educational values.
The official highlighted that Wadi Al Helo Al Shilla Folk Days represents a community cultural platform that helps connect generations to their authentic heritage, enhances community interaction, and consolidates Wadi Al Helo’s status as one of the key areas preserving Emirati heritage.
