Event organised under the patronage of Sheikha Jawaher
The event took place under the generous patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council and attracted more than 300 women of various nationalities.
The event saw wide participation from women and girls, reinforcing the growing role of women’s sports in the emirate.
Promoting women’s health and active lifestyles
Sheikha Al Suwaidi affirmed that the patronage of Her Highness reflects continuous support for women’s sports and community initiatives that enhance women’s health, quality of life, and promote sports as a way of life.
Encouraging healthy and sustainable practices
In statements to Sharjah 24, Al Suwaidi explained that the run aims to encourage women to adopt positive, healthy, and environmentally conscious behaviours with lasting impact. She highlighted Sharjah Ladies Club’s commitment to organising high-quality sporting and community events that strengthen women’s active role in society.
Strong community participation
She noted that more than 300 women and girls took part in the race, confirming that the Sharjah Women’s Run has evolved into a community platform that unites participants around shared health and wellness goals.
Winners and cash prizes awarded
The race honoured six winners, including three from the general category and three Emirati competitors. Cash prizes totalled AED 21,000, in addition to gifts provided by event sponsors.
Sustainability initiative launched
This year’s edition was distinguished by the launch of a sustainability initiative, aligning with the UAE’s vision for a more conscious and sustainable future.
