The Chamber’s participation in the exhibition is part of its ongoing efforts to empower national companies in the food and beverage industry, highlight their export capabilities, attract further foreign investment to the food sector in the Emirate of Sharjah, and support local companies in accessing new markets and expanding their business partnerships. This was achieved through an integrated platform showcasing 10 Sharjah-based companies specialising in the manufacturing and trading of diverse food products.
The Chamber's platform showcased a wide range of the latest food products from manufacturers in the emirate, reflecting the development of Sharjah's food industry and its ability to compete in global markets. The Chamber's delegation to the exhibition included Ali Al Jari, Director of the Sharjah Export Development Centre; Marwan Salem Al Muhairi, Head of Exhibitions; Sultan Al Ali, Head of Investor Services; and Maha Mansour Al Zarouni, Senior Exhibitions Executive.
Ali Al Jari, Director of the Sharjah Export Development Centre, emphasised that participation in Gulfood 2026 presents an exceptional opportunity for Sharjah-based companies to promote their products to a global audience of decision-makers and buyers. He added that it also offers a chance to forge new business deals with participating companies from approximately 195 countries and to learn about the latest trends and innovations in the food and beverage industry, thereby supporting expansion plans and increased exports to global markets. Al-Jari pointed out that the centre is working to provide an ideal environment to support exports through an integrated system of services. This includes assisting in improving the quality and competitiveness of locally produced exportable goods, establishing a comprehensive database to connect with geographically targeted markets, and unifying efforts to streamline export procedures in cooperation with relevant authorities.
The Chamber's delegation, represented by the Sharjah Export Development Centre, toured the exhibition pavilions. During the tour, they discussed potential areas of cooperation with several international companies and highlighted the investment environment in Sharjah and the centre's role in supporting exporting companies, particularly those operating in the food sector. They also reviewed efforts to provide facilities and services for investors wishing to establish new projects in the emirate.
The Chamber's delegation also met with a number of officials from bodies and institutions concerned with export development and investor attraction. Chamber officials also attended some of the business meetings that brought together member companies of the Chamber with their international counterparts participating in the exhibition, seeking to conclude trade deals or establish investment partnerships.
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry's stand drew considerable attention from food industry leaders attending the event. A large number of manufacturers, suppliers, and exporters flocked to the stand, which also hosted a series of fruitful bilateral meetings between local manufacturers and their counterparts from various markets. This created opportunities to establish new business partnerships and expand exports to additional markets with promising prospects.
During its participation in the exhibition, the Sharjah Export Development Centre reinforced its efforts to promote local products and broaden their reach into more international markets. This aligns with the Centre's objectives, which are supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry through organising trade missions and actively participating in specialised international exhibitions. The Centre also focuses on stimulating technology transfer and supporting innovation, enabling local companies to enhance their competitiveness and expand into global markets.
It is noted that the food industry sector in the Emirate of Sharjah offers many stimulating and attractive elements for investors, including advanced infrastructure, specialised industrial zones, customs facilities and tax exemptions, in addition to the strategic geographical location that connects the Emirate to global markets, thereby enhancing the presence of the food and beverage sector and opening up broad horizons for companies investing in the sector.
