Sharjah24: United, one of the UAE First Division League clubs, produced a major upset in the President of the UAE Cup quarter-finals, defeating Al Wahda 4–2 to reach the semi-finals. The match was played on Sunday at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.

The encounter ended 2–2 at full time, forcing the match into extra time, where United asserted their dominance to secure historic qualification.

Extra-time brilliance decides the contest

United’s victory was driven by a standout performance from Samuel Lopes, who scored a hat-trick, while Gian Ferrari added the fourth goal to complete the scoring for the First Division side.

Al Wahda’s goals came from Syrian striker Omar Khribin, who scored twice in normal time to keep his team in contention, before extra time tipped the balance in United’s favour.
