Sharjah 24 – WAM: The Ksar Saïd Racecourse in Tunisia hosted a strong start to the 33rd edition of the UAE President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses, attracting more than 15,000 spectators and highlighting the growing international reach of the series.

Dominant performance in Group 1 race

In the Group 1 2,000-metre dirt race, “RB Boyfriend” delivered a composed and powerful run, taking control on the final turn and pulling away in the closing stages to win in 2:18.05.

Winning connections and career record

The winner, trained by Ali Al-Qiyadi and ridden by Adel Al-Qiyadi, runs in the colours of owner Omar Ismail Garghar. The victory marks his ninth win from 11 career starts, alongside two second-place finishes.

Official presence and celebration of success

The race was attended by UAE Ambassador to Tunisia Dr. Iman Ahmed Al Salami and Faisal Al Rahmani, Secretary-General of the Higher Organising Committee for the President’s Cup, along with other officials and diplomats.

Organisers highlight global significance

Musallam Salem Al Amri, Member of the Higher Organising Committee, said the strong turnout and competition reflect the Cup’s global prestige and its role in supporting Arabian horse racing and breeders worldwide. He also praised the Tunisia leg as a demonstration of the UAE’s leadership in promoting the sport internationally.

Alongside the race, heritage and cultural activities reinforced the event’s broader significance beyond sport, while a pre-race horse auction saw record participation, underlining the Cup’s expanding cultural and commercial influence.
