Sharjah 24: Paris Saint-Germain regained the lead in the French Ligue 1 after a commanding 5–0 win over arch-rivals Marseille at the Parc des Princes in Paris, closing the 21st round of the season.

Goals and revenge

Ousmane Dembélé scored twice (12, 37), with further goals coming from Facundo Medina (own goal, 64), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (66), and Kang-in Lee (74). The result marked emphatic revenge for PSG, who had suffered their first league defeat of the season against Marseille earlier in September, at a time when several key players were sidelined by injury.

Dominance confirmed

PSG also extended their recent superiority over Marseille after beating them on penalties in last month’s French Champions Cup final in Kuwait.

Record defeat for Marseille

This was Marseille’s heaviest-ever loss against PSG. While they had previously lost 5–1 on two occasions, they had managed a consolation goal in both matches.

League standings

The victory was PSG’s seventh in a row and their 16th of the season, lifting them to 51 points and two clear of Lens. Marseille suffered their sixth defeat and remain fourth on 39 points.
