PSG suffered their fifth league defeat of the season, having lost only twice in each of the previous two campaigns, compared to seven defeats in the 2022–2023 season, when they were also crowned champions.
This was also their second home loss in the league at the Parc des Princes, and their first overall defeat to Lyon since December 2020 (10 wins and one draw).
The side coached by Luis Enrique remain on 63 points, just one point ahead of Lens, who have played a game more, with the two set to meet on 13 May in a postponed fixture from round 29.
PSG will play two relatively straightforward matches on paper against Nantes and Angers in the coming rounds, before hosting Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final on 2 May.
Meanwhile, Lyon strengthened their chances of direct qualification for the Champions League, raising their tally to 54 points in third place, ahead on goal difference of Lille, who drew 0–0 with Nice on Saturday.
