Sharjah24 - WAM: Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, The UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt inaugurated a new dialysis unit at the UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish, as part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian and medical initiatives to support displaced patients from the Gaza Strip and reduce the suffering of kidney failure patients under difficult humanitarian conditions.

Capacity and medical services

The newly opened unit is equipped with two dialysis machines, allowing up to six dialysis sessions per day. Each treatment session lasts around four hours and is conducted according to approved medical protocols, ensuring continuous and safe care for patients who require regular dialysis.

Responding to rising patient needs

The launch comes in response to the growing number of Palestinian patients with kidney disease and the rising demand for dialysis services. A fully equipped unit has therefore been established within the floating hospital to provide essential treatment and ease the burden on patients and their companions.

Improving access to treatment

The initiative is designed to deliver dialysis services close to residential complexes in Al Arish, reducing travel difficulties and helping guarantee uninterrupted treatment for patients.

Ongoing humanitarian medical role

The UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish continues to deliver specialised healthcare services aimed at saving lives and enhancing the quality of care for the most vulnerable groups, particularly those living with chronic illnesses.
