Sharjah 24: Aisha Al Zarouni, Head of the Rubu’ Qarn Theatre and Performing Arts delegation at the Arab Forum for Puppet and Marionette Arts and Related Arts, explained that the group presented the play Chairs at the Metropole Theatre in Cairo. The performance is a silent visual musical theatre piece.

Aisha Al Zarouni expressed her pride that the youth of the Emirate of Sharjah are part of this remarkable forum, which brings together a number of experts and artists in the field of puppetry, during its fifth edition in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Al Zarouni added, in statements to “Sharjah 24,” that participation in such forums helps the members develop and refine their skills, explore different styles in puppetry, and exchange experiences with fellow artists and experts. She pointed out that in the play Chairs, the chair becomes a symbol representing different aspects of humanity: the ambitious, passionate person striving for the peak; the lazy individual satisfied with little and unaware of their potential; and the greedy who oversteps all limits to achieve their desires at the expense of others. This is conveyed through a series of connected and separate scenes, depicting the chaos of chairs in a silent visual musical performance that tells deep and expressive stories without words.
