The initiative aims to strengthen connection to the Holy Quran and reinforce Islamic values within the community.
The competition features six diverse categories targeting various segments of society, reflecting the Council’s commitment to broadening participation and providing opportunities for all to compete in an uplifting atmosphere.
The categories include Quran memorisation for parents and youth; recitation and Tajweed for senior citizens; a category for memorisers among people with disabilities and those with learning difficulties; the “Little Bilal” category dedicated to students performing the Adhan (call to prayer); and an Adhkar category involving family participation.
This initiative stems from the Council’s keenness to strengthen social cohesion among community members, raise religious awareness, and promote a culture centred on the Quran and acts of worship—particularly during Ramadan, which is regarded as a season of devotion and drawing closer to Allah Almighty.
The Council affirmed that launching the competition reflects its commitment to its community role in supporting initiatives aimed at instilling Islamic values through institutional community partnerships. It also seeks to encourage positive engagement and active participation across all age groups, contributing to the building of a cohesive and interconnected society.
The Council invited those wishing to participate to register via the electronic form available on its official platforms, noting that judging will take place during the holy month of Ramadan by a specialised committee from the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment, ensuring transparency and accuracy in evaluating entries and selecting winners.
The Council added that the competition represents a valuable opportunity for community members to compete in a faith-filled atmosphere, praying that it will be a blessed initiative that spreads goodness and strengthens attachment to the Holy Quran.
