Sharjah 24: In recognition of her role and dedication to preserving heritage, Al Hamriya Municipal Council and Al Hamriyah Municipality honoured Moza Ali Obaid Hulais Al Ali for her distinguished and continuous participation in the Sharjah Heritage Days events in Al Hamriyah over the past years, and for her active role in highlighting folk traditions and promoting the presence of Emirati heritage in community events.
The honour was bestowed through a special visit to her home, given her recent health condition which prevented her participation in the latest edition of Sharjah Heritage Days, held from February 6 to 8, 2026, at the Heritage Village in Al Hamriyah. The delegation was keen to check on her health and present her with the award amidst an atmosphere of appreciation and gratitude.

Series of community initiatives

This recognition comes as part of a series of community initiatives implemented by Al Hamriyah Municipality and the Municipal Council, aimed at fostering a culture of appreciation and recognition of contributions, and strengthening partnerships with community members, thereby supporting national identity and preserving local cultural heritage.

The visit concluded with sincere prayers for the honouree's speedy recovery and continued health and well-being, with attendees affirming their ongoing communication and support. This gesture reflects the deep human bonds that characterize the Al Hamriyah community and reinforces the values of loyalty during the Year of the Family 2026.

Active community participation is key

His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, emphasised that this recognition embodies the wise leadership's approach of instilling values of loyalty and gratitude towards all who have contributed to serving the community and preserving its heritage. He noted that active community participation is a fundamental pillar in the success of national and cultural events and reflects the deep sense of belonging and authentic identity of the region's residents.

His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi added that Al Hamriyah Municipality is keen to ensure that recognition is not tied to place or time, but rather to the value of the contribution itself. He emphasised that visiting the honouree at her home reflects the municipality and the municipal council's commitment to their social responsibilities and their dedication to enhancing the quality of life for residents, especially in light of the Year of the Family 2026 initiative, which places the family at the heart of developmental and social priorities.

Cohesion and mutual respect

For his part, His Excellency Hamid Saif bin Samha Al Shamsi, Chairman of Al Hamriyah Municipal Council, explained that Emirati society is founded on cohesion and mutual respect among its members, and that honouring Moza Al Ali is a message of gratitude to all those who are committed to preserving heritage and contributing to its transmission to future generations. He stressed that community contributions are not measured by immediate impact, but by the cumulative effect over the years.

His Excellency Hamid Saif bin Samha Al Shamsi pointed out that the Municipal Council pays special attention to senior citizens and regular participants in community events, based on its responsibilities in promoting family and community cohesion, explaining that these initiatives are in line with the goals of the Year of the Family 2026, which aim to consolidate the values of compassion and solidarity, and enhance the status of the family as the nucleus of society and the incubator of heritage and values.
