Sharjah24–WAM: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Culture, the University of Fujairah, and the Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra at his office in the Emiri Court, with His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, in attendance.

The Crown Prince of Fujairah emphasised the importance of cultural partnerships in strengthening the cultural and arts sector in the emirate and ensuring integration among government, academic, and artistic institutions. He noted that such cooperation helps nurture national talent, advance the musical cultural scene, and reinforce the presence of fine arts within UAE society.

Supporting Fujairah’s cultural development

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed also highlighted His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, continued support for cultural and artistic initiatives to develop the creative industries and strengthen Fujairah’s position as a leading centre for creativity and culture at both local and international levels.

Academic and training programmes in music

The agreement aims to launch specialised academic and training programmes in music and the performing arts, combining theoretical study with practical application in line with the best international standards.
It was signed by Mubarak Al Nakhi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture; Dr Sulaiman Mousa Al Jassim, President of the University of Fujairah; and Salem Al Falahi, Director of the Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra.

Investing in culture and human capital

His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi said the agreement reflects the UAE’s approach to investing in people and culture, strengthening strategic partnerships with academic and creative institutions. He noted that the cooperation will empower national talent, support research, and create suitable training environments for cultural and artistic development.

The agreement also includes organising joint workshops and concerts, hosting national and international music events, supporting research and creative initiatives in music and the performing arts, and providing students with practical opportunities to participate in orchestra activities and live performances.
