Sharjah24-WAM: The Presidential Court has announced that Wednesday, 18 February 2026, will be the first day of the Holy Month of Ramadan in the United Arab Emirates.

In a statement, the Presidential Court said the announcement was based on the decision of the Moon Sighting Committee for the month of Ramadan, issued by the UAE Council for Fatwa for the year 1447 AH. The committee met in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday evening, corresponding to the 29th of Sha’ban 1447 AH, and confirmed the sighting of the Ramadan crescent.

Accordingly, Wednesday, 18 February 2026, has been declared the first day of the holy month across the country.

On this blessed occasion, the Presidential Court extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; and Their Highnesses, the Members of the Supreme Council and the Rulers of the Emirates.

The message also conveyed congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Their Highnesses the Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers; the people of the UAE; and the wider world.

The statement concluded with prayers to Allah Almighty to bless the nation with prosperity, goodness, and joy during the holy month.
