Sharjah 24 – WAM: Google has unveiled Gemini 3.1 Pro, a major upgrade to its artificial intelligence lineup, claiming the new model more than doubles the reasoning performance of its predecessor. Released in preview, the update signals a significant step forward in AI capability and autonomy.

Moving beyond text generation to “Agentic” workflows

Gemini 3.1 Pro is designed to push AI beyond basic text generation into what Google describes as “agentic” workflows — autonomous systems capable of solving complex, multi-step problems. These capabilities target advanced use cases in software engineering, finance, and research, enabling AI to independently plan and execute sophisticated tasks.

Major leap in core intelligence

Building on the Gemini 3 architecture introduced last November, the new model demonstrates substantial gains in reasoning and adaptability. According to Google’s internal benchmarks, Gemini 3.1 Pro scored 77.1% on ARC-AGI-2, a demanding test that measures a model’s ability to solve entirely new logic patterns it has not encountered during training.

This marks more than double the performance of Gemini 3.0 Pro and significantly narrows the gap with last week’s specialized “Deep Think” mode.

Enhanced creative and web development capabilities

Among its standout features is the ability to generate website-ready, animated Scalable Vector Graphics (SVGs) directly from text prompts — a development that enhances its value for designers and developers seeking rapid, AI-powered content creation.
